In the Business of Outreach Education:
Texas Cooperative Extension offers outreach education from the Texas A&M University System to individuals, families and communities. Our
goal is to involve Texans in education which will help improve their lives, the economy and the environment.
Meeting Local Needs:
Extension serves all 254 Texas Counties with education designed to fit the needs of local residents. County Extension agents work as community
educators and facilitators to provide these programs.
Linked in a State & National Network:
County Extension programs are linked in a statewide educational network with The Texas A&M University System. Extension specialists, located
at Texas A&M University and regional Research & Extension Centers provide expertise and materials to support local educational programs.
Our Power Is in People:
Local residents who serve on advisory groups to help guide our programs and ensure they meet local needs. The Texas of all ages who greatly
extend our educational outreach into their neighborhoods. Volunteers who give their time to help conduct events and teach others in their
communities.
Making Progress through Partnerships:
Founded in 1914, Extension operates as a unique and historic partnership among Texas county governments, The Texas A&M University System
and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Extension also works in partnership with other public and private universities, agencies, foundations,
organizations, cities, businesses and industry to meet the educational needs of Texans.
