Note** We can provide up to 3 hours of individual pesticide recertification opportunities by use of video programs at our office. You must call in
advance to schedule the program and discuss your needs.
The Walker County Extension Service is sponsoring a Master Gardener Program for the first time - 2001. If you are interested in joining a training
class for the 2002 year, call us to be placed on the list. The number of individuals on the list will help determine class availability and offering for 2002. See

General Agricultural Information (Texas A&M University)-
All the resources of the Texas A&M University System are available at the TAMU Agriculture Program site.
Check out this site: THE URBAN RANCHER - A great (really useful) Texas Extension Web Site with a variety of
information of many, many topics related to living in the country and basic agriculture production. The site is designed for
newcomers to country living yet contains a good base of information for anyone living this lifestyle.
Need a helping hand? Visit the Texas AgrAbility Web Site for a variety of information dealing with the needs of disabled
farmers and ranchers. This site has good links to specialized equipment and other valuable information.
Internet Radio - For Agriculture
The Texas A&M University System in conjunction with eight other land-grant institutions have launched an
Internet Radio Network. Files are formatted for real audio, wav, mp3 and others. Give the site a look for some good audio
on agriculture, horticulture, wildlife and many other subjects.
Texas A&M's Agricultural Communications has its own Radio Web Site. You must have Quicktime to run the files or they
can be downloaded. A FREE download offer is available.
Agricultural Production & Income -
Texas Agricultural Statistics: A good place to look if you want to see information on current or historical prices and production.
Pesticides -
Texas Department of Agriculture: (TDA) Pesticide regulations, licencing, recertification and general information
regarding agricultural regulations for the STATE OF TEXAS.
Structural Pest Control Board: Pesticide regulations, licencing, recertification and general information regarding structural
(and inside city limits) chemical applications for the STATE OF TEXAS.
Office of Pesticide Programs: If you are interested in the process of tracking and commenting on Federal implementation of
the Food Quality Protection Act (FQPA) be sure to try this site. The home page will allow you to access public comment
opportunities, pending Agency decisions, and the status of reviews for key pesticides. Also available are Office of Pesticide
Programs publications.
*Looking for Private Applicator Certification Classes - Try this site for a listing of available classes (state-wide). If you
are in need of a local class, contact the Walker County Extension Office.
*Many of our private applicators (with TDA applicator licenses) will have licenses coming due for RECERTIFICATION at
the end of this year-2000. Contact us for an update on available C.E.U. classes and programs in and around Walker County.
